刘海粟(1896-1994),名槃,字季芳,号海翁。汉族,江苏常州人。现代画家、美术教育家。1912年与乌始光、张聿光等创办上海图画美术院,后改为上海美术专科学校,任校长。1949年后任南京艺术学院院长。早年习油画,苍古沉雄。兼作国画,线条有钢筋铁骨之力。后潜心于泼墨法,笔飞墨舞,气魄过人。晚年运用泼彩法,色彩绚丽,气格雄浑。历任南京艺术学院名誉院长、教授,上海美术家协会名誉。中国美术家协会顾问。英国剑桥国际传略中心授予“成就奖”。意大利欧洲学院授予“欧洲棕榈金奖”。
Liu Haisu (1896-1994), name plate, character Jifang, number Haiweng. Han nationality, from Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. Modern outstanding painters and art educators. In 1912, he founded Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts with Wu Shiguang and Zhang Yuguang, and later changed to Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts as president. After 1949, he became president of Nanjing Academy of Art. In his early years, he learned oil painting, and he was immortal. As a Chinese painting, the lines have the strength of steel and iron. Later, he devoted himself to the ink-splashing method, and danced with great boldness. In his later years, he used the splash-colored method, which had brilliant colors and vigorous temperament. He has been honorary Dean and professor of Nanjing Academy of Art and honorary chairman of Shanghai Artists Association. Consultant of China Artists Association. The Cambridge Center for International Heritage awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award. The Italian European Academy awarded the European Palm Gold Prize.
刘海粟不是一位循规蹈矩的画家,不是一位温文尔雅的画家,他的艺术血脉中,奔腾着的是“破坏”的血液,同时也是创造的血液。在二十世纪的中国画坛,刘海粟既是一位伟大,更确切的说是自大的“破坏”者,同时又是一位自大的创造者。刘海粟早在二十世纪初碰上了东西方绘画思想交汇的机缘。一方面由于家庭环境,使他受到较深的中国传统文化的熏陶,在个人气质上又具有比较强烈的个性;另一方面又正站立在中国新文化运动思想浪潮冲击的正面,并有志于力挽中国绘画长期以来因袭摹仿的颓风。这样,在向西方文化艺术作探索、借鉴时,就不会那么容易被他们束缚个性的学院主义和自然主义所俘虏,也不会轻易被他们那种如实描绘的写实功夫所眩惑,他接触到了西方的不拘细节、自由奔放、新鲜泼辣的新兴绘画,正好同他一直崇奉的石涛、八大所创新的画风相接近,就像磁石吸铁,一下子心心相印了。
Liu Haisu is not a regular painter, nor a gentle painter. In his artistic blood, there is a blood of destruction and creation. In the 20th century Chinese painting circle, Liu Haisu is not only a great, more precisely, arrogant "destroyer", but also an arrogant creator. As early as the early 20th century, Liu Haisu met the opportunity of the convergence of eastern and Western painting ideas. He has come into contact with the new and vigorous western paintings, which are irrelevant to details, free and unrestrained, fresh and spicy, just like Shi Tao and the Eight Great Innovations which he has always advocated. The style of painting is similar, just like magnets attract iron, and all of a sudden the heart is impressed.
重视直觉与灵感,追求色调的自然灵气和天趣。对色彩的感受、把握和运用,尤其有赖于直觉与灵感。色彩的调子、品位、趣味、韵味,色彩的冷暖、厚薄、浓淡、深浅、润燥、清浊、明暗,以及色与色的过渡、色与墨的浑化、色与水的关系等等,仅仅凭理性分析显然不够,还得靠直觉体悟。人们称赞刘海粟笔下色彩鲜活灵透,极富生命感,颇得自然天趣,弥漫着一种灵气,不像有的学院派画家僵化呆板。成就这种色彩境界,很大程度上得力于画家那消逝的激情,迟钝的直觉,枯竭的灵感。老人作画大气磅礴,激情满怀,而且灵感迭出,往往任意挥洒,信笔点染,天趣妙成。
