收藏界有一句话称“收藏张大千永远不晚”，今年拍的《惊才绝艳》似乎再一次以5236万的成交价格佐证了这句老话。
作为早熟、天才型的画家，其创作“包众体之长，兼南北二宗之富丽”，合文人画、宫廷画和民间艺术为一体，于中国画人物、山水、花鸟、鱼虫、走兽等题材无所不包、无所不能，而且其艺术技艺之，艺术风格之多样，实为二十世纪之一人也。就今天国内外的艺术市场来看，张大千的作品无疑又成为焦点，为众多藏家所青睐。
　　张大千的花鸟画，刻意扬弃清末明初那种狂狷不羁的超逸风气，宁愿在优雅中求清逸，既不失院体的工整凝练，又有粗笔写意的画风。“含蓄的笔势，绝弃风华，温静的墨意，精炼于骨，淡雅而质朴”，展现出凝气聚古的典雅特色。无论前期的内敛、优雅，还是后期一空依傍的洒脱豪迈，张大千的花鸟画始终立基于传统，竭力在步步为营中走出自己的方向，就这么一小步，形成传统的一大步。
